We all know that the pandemic has affected most things in life, the property market included, but did you know that it has also directly influenced a change in home-buyer requirements?

Having spent a lot (and we mean A LOT) of time indoors by #StayingHome, people are starting to realise that their previous priorities when looking for a new home are no longer relevant.

The following information has been taken from a Homeowner survey conducted by Dataloft:

LOCATION

8% of respondents say that living closer to friends and family is now more important.

15% of respondents say that a less urban area is now more important.

AMENITIES

16% of respondents say that broadband speed is now more important.

SPACE

21% of respondents say that a homeworking space is now more important.

GARDEN

30% of respondents say that a garden is now more important.

Overall, it is evident that the pandemic has made people reevaluate what they look for in a potential home. We now place more value on green spaces and being able to #WorkFromHome when we need to.

Do you think your requirements for a home have changed because of COVID-19?
