We know, based on our own first-hand experience of working with buyers and sellers in our community, how many thousands of fantastic Mums and Dads there are across our area. At the moment we’re finding ourselves in quite a challenging position where we’re looking to educate our children from home. For a lot of us, this may be the first time that we’ve encountered this challenge.

So, where do you go? Where do you turn? What resources are available? And how do you ensure that your child gets the best education possible over the course of the coming weeks?

Well, we’ve decided to do some research, and today we’d like to share with you our top four resources that we’d like all parents to be aware of in our community to make sure your child gets the best education possible during these uncertain times.

  1. PE with Joe Wicks

The first thing is that Joe Wicks – the Body Coach and the creator of Lean in 15 – is doing a live workout every single day, Monday-to-Friday, at 9 o’clock in the morning. These are workouts that are designed for children, with the idea being that the sessions are there to replace the normal PE routine; but they are family-friendly and parents can get involved as well. We’d highly recommend that the whole family take part. You don’t need any equipment, you don’t really need much space at all, you can do it in your living room, in your garden, in your garage, wherever is convenient and workout together as a family.

We honestly think that through all of this uncertainty, it’s really important that children maintain a good level of physical activity, not only for their physical health but also for their mental and emotional health. So, tune in on Joe’s Youtube channel.

2. Top Marks

The second website that we’d like to make you aware of is called Top Marks. Top Marks has got lots of resources that you can print out and work through at home and is designed for children from preschool age all the way through to secondary school. So, whatever age your child is, you should be able to find some worksheets to use and keep them challenged.

3. Twinkl

The second website is called Twinkl. Twinkl is another online resource where you can do interactive tasks or download worksheets. It covers all manner of subjects from Maths, English, and Science to Arts and Crafts, and Physical Education.

4. BBC Bitesize

The third website is BBC Bitesize. Bitesize does a really good job of combining games and technology with education. Users can have an avatar, work through the different levels, and then re-cap everything that they’ve learned at the end. It’s a really good, fun, immersive way of learning.

So, those are our top four resources that every parent should check out to see you through this challenging time around your child’s education.
